Enjoyment

Alright. I'm just going to admit it.

I've been having some fun. Now I know I know, I'm almost 40, bad economy, Haiti...but I thought "what the peanuts, I'm going to have a little fun," and I have been.

This past weekend was a very good friend of mines 40th birthday. It was a surprise, it totally worked. I mean, it so totally worked. We went to karaoke and laughed and sang and danced and it was just one of those nights that works out the way it was supposed to, you know? Then last night I went to the Second City holiday party. That was fun too, in a totally different way.

My husband needs some time off so he can join in the funcapades, he deserves that. I'm working on it...

But I swear it is hard to let go a little still. Hard to unclench, hard to remember that people go out and laugh and have drinks and talk and giggle and smile and have a good time and that that is OKAY. I think that's the hardest for me and for John too, that it's okay...it's okay to relax a little, have some fun, find some carefree instead of careful.

We're bringing it though. No doubts.

After I was unemployed for 9 months, it took me over 2 years to be able to go out and buy new clothes. So understand your feelings.

Yes, exactly. That's it exactly. I can't even imagine buying new clothes! I mean, that just seems outrageous.

Thanks Julene!

I am right there with you. Back in the salad days when I was making six figures, I used to go out every weekend, sometimes both Friday and Saturday night; I'd buy friends drinks all the time; I went out to dinner and the movies and saw live theater pretty often; I went on VACATIONS!

The last couple of years, I've been so tight I could shit diamonds.

Hendo! I know right? I mean in a lot of ways I think its great we've all learned how to live with less, but sometime we have to let it go!

And dude, I wish you could shit diamonds.
