Celebrate!

A long time ago, while our lives were still confusing and distressing, one of my very good friends - a lost brother really - the man who married us gave me and John an anniversary gift.

My friend John (who married us) works at the Renaissance Hotel downtown, the big one right on the river. When we got married everyone stayed at the Renaissance and it was our jumping off point for everything wedding related. We stayed there too, just the one night after the wedding. We barely even got to enjoy the hotel considering we got home around 3AM and left the next morning.

So my dear friend John, my lost brother, got us a night at the Renaissance for an anniversary gift. What a truly wonderful gift as John and I were and are still, broke. He gave us this gift back in August and we have been waiting to use it. I know us too well, if we went and did this night before jobs or new business ideas popped up, we wouldn't enjoy it. So we've been saving it till we had something to celebrate. And now we do! John has his job starting in just a few weeks, I'm so all about my work I wish I could do it all the time and it's Christmastime!

Therefore, tonight John and I are going to stay at the fancy Renaissance Hotel. Oh, and I forgot to mention that not only were we given a night at the hotel, BUT, we were also given dinner and breakfast the next day. SO FUN.

We're going to show up one minute after check-in at 3PM and our plan was to stay in the hotel the whole time, but now we might venture out to the Christkrindle Market, cause we kind of do that every year. But generally, we're going to swim in the indoor pool, eat a complimentary dinner, watch Survivor in the king bed, maybe go for another swim...my gosh, who knows.

But I'm really looking forward to it, it's a new start in my house and we're going to start our new start with a night at a fancy hotel. Whooopedddeeeddooooo!
