Hello, Goodbye

Well, I’ve had a really nice weekend, it was busy and quiet, but it was also really…kinda romantic and loving, and when I came back today I saw some information, the kind that puts everything into perspective.

A friend of mine, a good friend, a friend who I’ve often said “travels on a similar path as I do”, well, her daddy died yesterday. And I can’t stop thinking about her and her family. He’s been sick a long time, close to the time my mom had her stroke (that’s why I always said we were on similar paths, not the same one, but we could definitely wave to each other), which is just about three years. I just want to tell her and her friends and everyone that I love her and her family and I’m thinking about them, and thinking and appreciating my own life, with the people I love.

Moving on, our weekend was nice. We went to a new restaurant on Friday, Sabor a Cuba on Wilson and …. Winchester I think, it was delicious, I got the steak sammy and it was one of the best things ever.Saturday we headed to my brother and his girlfriend’s housewarming party that was so nice. She’s so great, and he’s so happy and it’s a very romantic love story I’ll go into another time maybe…then we drove in the icky weather to Evanston to see my mom, and then to a dinner party at my boss’ house. The weather turned out to be not so bad, and we got to have LOBSTER. It was so delicious, the whole meal was. Then we went home and crashed hard.
Sunday was a day of sweet surprises, we thought John was going to have to work, and he didn’t…

So, it was a good weekend over all, lots of cuddling and love and doggies and warmth and food and Christmas and all good things. Today is the day to remember everything good that we have, and not take it for granted.
