Apesong

Wow, who was a moody Sally yesterday?

Yeesh.

Already I can feel my middle mind kicking back in, the habit of getting up and going back to work, the daily errands that must be taken care of; I feel my freedom dissipate while the reality of life and love sink back in. Meh, so be it. It’s still Friday.

Now, in my haste to feel sorry for myself and express said pity to the readers of my blog, I did not mention something VERY important.

I got my first assignment for Impress These Apes.

I, The Hixx, must sing a 3 minute introductory song, and….

Play an instrument. ACK!

Believe it or not, this is one I’m most fearful of! I have never, not ever, played a musical instrument.

I believe I’ve solved the musical instrument problem and am now moving forward to writing a song. My problem is though, every melody I come up with eerily and strangely goes back to:

One Tin Soldier

Or

Proud to be an American.

It’s really weird. Every song I start singing in my own head morphs into one of these two songs. Much like when I’m doing accents (which I’m bad at, I hope they don’t make us do an “accent” project) I end up doing some weird Jamaican Irishman, even if I’m trying to do an English accent.

So there you go, our first performance on August 2nd, I will be playing an instrument and singing a song if it kills me.

Impressing apes does not come easy folks, it just doesn’t.

On Monday, please stay tuned for an update on the ménage of love going on upstairs in our apartment building….

Happy Friday.

Thank you ladies!

I appreciate the offers. I think I have something that will work, but if it doesn't, pull out your kazoos!
