Hello little blog. Did you miss me? I missed you. You seem so lonely sitting here, all alone, waiting for your blog mommy to come post here. Well here I am small one, no fears, no worries. Blog mommy will make you feel better.
So yeah, five days off of work and I come back and once again have that heart sinking feeling of lack of freedom. I hate that.
But, our vacation was lovely. We were lazy, and active.
What we basically did was hang out with the people we love and eat at the places we love. In five days we hit most of our favorite places to eat, starting with:
1. Aroy Thai. This is the Thai place right across the street from the Damen el stop. We always have gotten delivery, never eaten at the restaurant, and it was damn delicious.
2. Sunday breakfast at Ann Sathers.
3. Sunday dinner at My Pie. Yum.
4. Monday breakfast at The Bagel on Broadway.
5. Monday dinner at Blackie’s downtown.
6. Tuesday breakfast at Golden Nugget right by our house
7. Tuesday dinner at the Half Shell
8. Wednesday lunch at the Bakers Square in Wilmette. Okay, maybe not a favorite, but still…delicious and odd.
We watched some media, John watched The Prestige and I fell asleep. He swears it wasn’t very good, so fine by me.
We saw Spiderman 3 at the Imax, that was fun. The movie blew, but the Imax was really fun.
Now its time for me to push down that sense of freedom, that sense of being able to do what you want when you want, and somehow find the manufactured joy of working for the man, following strict time, and seeing the dog on a limited basis.
Oh, its really nice to be back right?

i used to work at a baker's square (naperville, go figure), and there are things there that i still really enjoy. besides the PIE, of course! so, that and the olive garden (soup, salad and breadsticks!) are two of my guilty suburban chain pleasures.
my pie. never been. i take it it's a good choice?
Smuss!
My Pie rocks. Cool, dark interior and a great salad bar, and delicious pizza. But I recommend the pan, not the thin.
Cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Yum.
I too love Bakers Square.
