Kinda Hot Wednesday

So the other day I got an email from the Architecture Foundation that HGTV was coming for their Househunters show (which I don’t watch). They’re doing a special on Chicago real estate and instead of having their regular hosts; they want “real Chicago” people to host!

So the foundation contacted me and a few others, and this morning I went for a min-audition. It was way fun, but also reminded me why I don’t do this sort of thing as my life, auditions I mean. I hate them. She asked me why I loved Chicago and its architecture and I rambled on for a good two minutes about nothing. I would look right into the camera, then look at her, then look at the ceiling, all while mumbling something about Sullivan. Bah. But still, the walk back to work in the sunshine with my music going was the best part.

Today for KHW I’m going to talk about cutie-patootie Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs.



Is he the cutest or what? And totally in that “I wish you had been my dad” kinda way. He’s so regular guy, so mushy faced, but also totally manly and masculine.

And hilarious.

If you say to almost any woman on the planet “Do you watch Dirty Jobs?” she will say in response “I love that guy”.

He seems…empathetic, because of all that crap he has to do, but then he’s absolutely committed to doing it too, he doesn’t wimp out and complain (well he does, but its funny!). I saw him on Oprah and he was so passionate about outing the people that have to do this shit, that it’s important to realize how many people have these dirty jobs and that they deserve recognition for what they do.

He’s passionate, funny, cute as a button and totally manly.
