Pup Pup!

My office is so freaking hot. It’s like a joke, but not, cause it really is this hot.

Poor Remo, John has taken to tying a long, snake toy around his whole body, and sweet Remo is so easy going, sometimes when he can’t get it off, he just wanders around the apartment with this long snake tied around his back.

Our dog just gets better and better, as do we, with his training and his alpha’ing. We’ve effectively taught him 3 tricks, plus John has been working hard with “wait”, before he goes out the door on walks. Remo usually does it, with this wild look in his eye as he’s waiting for the door to open for his walk. His eyes looking right at me, his curly tail, straightened and wagging on the floor, sweeping his own dog fur back and forth, back and forth.

He gets into his crate immediately now when we ask, and very often, offers his paw when he’s not even asked, hoping that raising something, anything, will maybe get him a treat.

When I read Cesar’s Way (the dog whisperer) he talks about the “ultimate submissive position” (no jokes please, I made them all already) and that is when you force a dog to lie down on his side. Lying down is tough and submissive as it is, but putting the dog on its side is supposed to be a last resort move, only do-able when one is experienced.

Of course, we put Remo on his side all the time, he loves it. John spins him around on the floor, and Remo gets up, asking for more.

We sure did get lucky, but we are also working so hard on making sure we raise the right type of dog. But on his little over a month anniversary with us, I’m impressed with all of us, and happy to have a little family to come home to.
