Chicagoing

It’s been an interesting day, mostly on the Chicagoist board. I tend to get some snarky comments over there because I’m too quick, I don’t check enough, I don’t spell rightly and some times, I deserve the snarky posts.

But sometimes, it’s not just me and lately, seems like the posts are snarkier than ever over there. There’s been lots of back and forth, and honestly, I don’t know whats wrong with people.

We’re all just trying to have a little fun right?

I mean, I give myself a break a lot of times because I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve never written for anything before, and so there’s going to be learning curves. If I spell something wrong or cite something wrong, then so be it. I’ll learn it for next time.

But some people I believe are just looking for the fight, looking to be better than everyone else and go to this nice neat little blog to do that.

F THEM MAN! F THEM!

Actually, I’m relieved it’s not just me. I don’t wish mean comments on anyone, but for awhile there it felt like I was getting more ripped on than some, now I know, its everyone.

Someone did call me the “Liz Armstrong of Chicagoist” which was meant as an insult, but I thought it was great. I don’t think she’s amazing, but sometimes she’s funny, her life is totally different than mine and I appreciate that, and she has a weekly article in a free press paper that I really enjoy, so…they can call me that all they want. (plus, she's in wikipedia? I mean, come on, that's awesome, even if she sucks)
