Is it just me?

I love jury duty.

It's not really that I love jury duty, but more that I love the idea of being on a jury. It really floats my boat. I got one once, a trial, and it was great. It was only 2 days but it was a drunk driving charge and the guy was an identical twin and both twins were in the car, so eventually, we had to dismiss because no one could prove it wasn't the other identical twin driving.

Now, the Zimmerman case is so beyond me. Again, not watching the news, and I think it brings up every racial problem we all have. I had a fine old time defending the "the black kid" against the not black guy, my liberalism could last all day on this case I know absolutely nothing about.

But this morning, on my way out the door to go give a riverwalk tour on the prettiest day ever, I told John that there would be almost no other place in the world I would rather be than stuck in some stuffy court room, eating waxy turkey sandwiches and going over evidence with 5 other ladies.

I don't know what that is. It's a little pride actually, I think the system is amazing (I know, and totally broken, but a jury is a jury). And the theater of it, the attorneys, the objecting and all of it.

I have no idea what's going to happen honestly, but I would KILL to get a murder trial.

I think that's weird too, but they're really weird. I don't think it's all that organized.
