Mission Accomplished

So...

I did it. Yesterday I finished P90X. Finished the hell out of it.

Here are my many multitude of thoughts:

First, if you did this program and the nutrition plan, there is no doubt in my mind that you would be hella buff. I was very strict with the workouts, out of 3 months there were only 2 days I skipped altogether but I did not do any of the nutrition program at all. Do I believe P90X works? Hell yes I do.

Is it worth it? It is, if you workout at home regularly, know that this is how you like to workout and you are at least in shape enough to get started. Not that you couldn't do it if you weren't in some shape, but chances are you would not continue because it might be a bit disheartening. If you workout some, you already know exercise can be disheartening sometimes.

I really wish I had taken before and after photos. I really do. But I can tell you 100% that I am stronger than I have ever been, in better shape, way more confident in my physical abilities and definitely even more coordinated.

I still never lost one pound really. So if you want P90X to lose weight, you're going to have to do nutrition. What I think I basically did is replace much of my fat with muscle, just switched it right out.

Is my body so different it's amazing? No. No it isn't. I've explained before that really I'm the one that sees the most difference, I don't have people coming up to me and telling me I'm ripped...but it is by far the most change I have ever seen. I watched a video of myself from last year and was AMAZED to see how round my shoulders were. Now they're damn square and strong.

I have abs and muscles underneath my layer of lady lumps, I have back muscles, I could break your leg with my ass, I can run better, ride my bike better and have a much deeper understanding of what it means to be strong.

The lady videos, the lady Shape videos and stuff like that...they aren't about strength dammit, they're about "toning" and shit. Eff that.

What am I going to do now? I don't really know. More p90X probably. I'm not really sure what else to do. As far as I know there is no home workout that can even come close to Tony Horton. What I'll probably do is keep the weightlifting segments and then run on the days he usually does some kind of cardio.

But man, I was just starting to get really good at Yoga X and that was a struggle for me pretty much all 3 months. I don't want to stop now.

I do feel like now I'm just getting started. Now I'm starting to see some real physical manifestation of my strength.

HELL YES!
Congratulations! You are amazing.

Now, come box with me! Thought it will probably be paltry compared to what you are used to.

I mean, though. Not Thought.

Congrats Peg! That really is an achievement. I think you will miss the p90 gang, so keep in touch. You will come to miss those Hotonisms: "scissors...get it?" and my new favorite, " Look at those triceps:diamonds of gold."

You can't get mixed metaphors like that in just any workout!

Thanks Erica! Boxing would kick my butt for sure. I like how you explain what it's like to be punched in the face. My god.

James, I'm already missing Tony!

"I got shot in the buttocks."
