You know, I've never been much of a religious person. Certainly I will be like all non-religious people and claim that I am a "spiritual" person, but not a religious one. It's true, even if its cliche.
BUT MAN OH MAN, you catch the Hixx at any point during A Christmas Carol and I get all weepy and Christmasy and oh man. I just love it. So, like Tiny Tim says, God Bless Us, Every One.
This year's Christmas is different in many ways, we're married, which is lovely. It's fun to be married on Christmas. We're trying a different tact with my mother as well. We used to have a condo in Evanston we could take mom to and pretend to have a real Christmas there, but it never worked.
So I'm taking a page from the Reid Family this year and we are all taking it easy. Today we're going to the Cheesecake Factory and to the movies, tomorrow we're going back to the movies and its entirely possible that our Christmas dinner will be rubbery hot dogs from the concessions counter.
I love every inch of this, we are spending a lot of time together laughing and enjoying ourselves, there is still too much chocolate to be consumed and we all have little presents for each other that are thoughtful and creative.
So yay for Christmas and my husband and my family and my dog and Tiny Tim.
Merry Christmas everyone!
