Turks

So, I braved the grocery store all by myself this morning, and bought our Thanksgiving turkey. Now, you all may think that the grocery store is a benign and loving place, I however HATE the grocery store (which came first, my lack of cooking skills or my hatred of the grocery store?). I hate the grocery store because it is overwhelming, there is too much to see and compare. I dislike grocery carts, they scare me and I find them unwieldy and obtrusive. I don't like lines or people in the lines, I do my best and try to make this Obama's America, but COME ON PEOPLE, move your cart out of the way, I gotta get outta here or I'm going to have a panic attack.

So anyway, I managed. John is working this week, so I went shopping.

I think I got a very big turkey.

Plus the bird looks good too....heyo!

Also, for you readers out there, I just finished The Hours by Michael Cunningham and I really enjoyed it.

It's a book for people who read. It's not even a book for people who write. It's a book for readers and I LOVE that, its basically about readers of one sort or another and I just felt very personally touched by it. I'm surprised they even made a movie of it, since it is such a readers book. That story is meant to be read, not acted out by botoxed actresses (well one in particular, I'm looking at you Kidman). Anyway, I recommend it, plus, its a very short read.

You know what I love about reading? The first chapter or so it takes you to find your way around reading that particular book. When I first started reading The Hours I didn't like it so much, but I know that's just me settling into the pace, and the language. I love that.

Anyway, I have no idea what I'm going to read next, but it better be good, because its probably going to be the last book of the year!

More tomorrow!
