Russian to Georgia!

So, lets get this out of the way, anyone know of a karaoke place in the Loop, River North or Gold Coast? I found one place, The Blue Frog, that looks promising, but I thought I’d throw it out there, see if anyone knew of any place else!Okay, so maybe I was too hard on Hillary yesterday (no I wasn’t) but today I’d like to hand John McCain a “you are stupid” stick, they make those, and he should have one.

Now, I’m still learning about this whole Georgia/Russia conflict, I’m doing my reading, on both sides and from what I can tell, john McCain is standing up there, speaking in extremely strong language, which I’m sure most of his neocon supporters love. He looks great doesn’t he? Like he really knows what he’s talking about and meanwhile, Barack is vague and tells both sides to just kind of…stop it.

Yet, even before I knew what was going on, I knew McCain’s words were fighting words, that his “we are all Georgians today” would get us in trouble. It seems very much like Russia has us in a fine little bind right now and McCain saying words like that are exactly what they, and Georgia, want to hear.

We can’t go around saying fighting words to Russia, we can’t. They’ll take us up on it and we’ll be cruising around in 3 wars, and Russia knows this. And apparently Georgia knows it too, very much expecting the US to stand behind them and force the issues, like some little brother waiting for their big brother to come save them.

I find this all distressing, and I desperately want my President to hold his tongue for a moment and think about this and not say anything definite or war-mongering, instead of coming out with swords flying out of his mouth, angling to put us in yet another war, which would then lead to another war with Iran, because Iran and Russia are close like that.
Argh.

Anyway, its way more important for me right now to find a karaoke place. Sorry Georgia.
