Alright, tomorrow I get out of dodge, which is a really good thing. I’m becoming frustrated.
I’m frustrated with the wedding. If everyone would just let me do what I need to do and trust me that this is going to be awesome and wonderful and fun and all those things…that would be great.
I’m frustrated with the city, which kind of blows because we’re headed to NYC which is a way more frustrating city, but at least I’ll know I won’t be taking Chicago for granted when I get back.
I’m frustrated with all the Obama talk. I’m trying hard not to get frustrated, I really do respect all points of view, that’s kind of the point right? But if you weren’t moved yesterday than there is just nothing I can do about that. If you don’t see a thinker instead of a fighter, than…okay. Fine, you’re right, he’s a racist bigot black man who can’t wait to get into office and keep the white man down. People believe what they want to believe. Including me. I choose to believe that was quite an amazing speech, written by the man himself, which doesn’t surprise me considering I read BOTH OF HIS OTHER BOOKS that he wrote himself. Fucking brilliant speech, or…you can choose not to hear it. That’s cool.
I’ll be in New York getting punched by small Asian ladies (it happened to me, so trust me, I’m not being a racist, just telling it like it is), so it doesn’t matter anyway.
And we have to take Buddy to “camp” tonight (HI ELISABETH) and it’s been breaking my heart all day, he’s going to wonder where we are.
So, not to leave the blog for a long weekend on a bad note, here’s an anecdote:
I called nikeplus to ask them how to get my new sensor to work with my ipod. The nice lady on the phone told me to restore my ipod. She said “Make sure you back up your music before you do that though” she said, “because it will wipe out your whole library”.
“Okay” I said.
So I go to restore my ipod and I hear her words in my head “Back up your music” and I hit restore and I hear her say “back up her music” and the itunes says “Are you sure you want to restore your ipod because it will wipe out all your music” …
And I hit “yes” without backing up any of my music.
True story.
Luckily, I had my old shuffle which had all the music on it and I just re-downloaded it, but crimeny, what was I thinking? Way more criminal than sitting in a black church for 20 years. Heh.
Wish me luck in NYC, we might need it. Maybe I’ll be the one doing the punching.
