New York and New York

Hi! Welcome back me! HI CHICAGO! Did you miss me, you beautiful big ole city? ‘Cause I sure as hell missed you. Rawr.

So, we had a great time on our vacation, everything we needed to do was accomplished, our travel (so much travel, planes, buses, autos, trams) all went swimmingly.

I, a little tearfully, left Remo with Elisabeth, Ralph and Radar. I knew the second I walked in there Buddy was going to be fine, but it was damn hard to walk up those stairs without him. John didn’t come home till 3AM from work, so I tried to sleep without him or the dog, not good. Our flight was at 7:30, so waking John up at 4AM was pretty easy, cause he got home at 3AM. Ugh.

Anyway, we finally make it to Albany to see Grace and Jack, my hilariously amazing niece and nephew. Oh my god, they are so smart, so awesome, so beautiful and so so funny. Grace managed to set me straight about turtles vs. tortoises and Jack set me straight well…on me.

I leaned in to get a close look at him and he kind of looked scared. I said:

“Oh, I’m sorry Jack; I shouldn’t scare you like that. I probably scare you cause I’m a weird old lady”

Promptly, the 3 year old Jack says:

“No, you’re not weird”

Huh, there’s definitely some Hixx in that kid.

We had such a good time with them and my brothers, good times all around.

Okay, busy day here at work, the NYC part of our trip will have to wait until tomorrow!
