Michelle, no worries. I know it just didn't come out the right way.

Okay!

Way to go Obama, I’m still with you man. Keep going.

Now, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about all of this, as many of us have. And I’ve gone from getting angry, to getting educated, to deciding I’m not going to say anything to anyone about it…

Politics is a tricky thing, especially when you’re practicing your Tolle, and his eternal question “Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?” Well, in the case of politics, I want to be right you right-wing-son-of-a-bitch. Hee. I get annoyed that people don’t see the way I do. And then I tell myself not to argue, just believe what I believe, but in this case, that’s not really the right thing to do right? The right thing to do in this case is to keep educating myself to the best of my ability and then FIGHT FOR IT!

So, I don’t know what I’m trying to say, except that I believe in Tolle’s philosophy, with the two notable exceptions of politics, and humor.

I’ve gotten really annoyed with the whole “drinking the kool-aid” scenario (I’m looking at you TB), as if somehow my belief in what Obama can do is based on me being easily swayed, naïve and uneducated. But John the other day said that it is kind of like that with Obama, there is some level of just blindly believing in this man who offers change.

So, I’ve been working on judging Obama as I judge McCain, or Hillary, which is also by the way, the best way to counter critics of his, I know what they think, I know what they’re going to say, and I’ve been investigating whether they’re right or not.

EDITED TO ADD: Ok, one more thing over, would everyone please stop saying he's all style and no substance? You can easily go on his website and see exactly what he's for, how he's going to do it exactly, why/where/when/how, just as much as Hillary or McCain, critics are using this argument because they have none other to use, hell, the whole "experience" thing is a better arguement. Here is his plan for Iraq for example..okay? http://www.barackobama.com/issues/pdf/IraqFactSheet.pdf

Like last night, Barack says “I HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY LOBBYIST MONEY IN THIS CAMPAIGN”, well, that’s a lofty statement no?So I checked it, and he hasn’t…but “lobbyist” is a very specific term in the way he’s using it…he means Washington DC lobbyists, the one’s who need to register officially with the government. Now, Obama definitely takes money from lawyers, corporations and people who work “around” lobbyists, and he takes money from official lobbyists in other states, IL and CA for example. And the money he’s missing out on from “lobbyists” is some piddly amount, 40K or some such that Hil and McCain have taken.

But you know what? Could be considered sneaky that he’s using this all over, BUT, I think it’s brilliant! I don’t mind a little sneaky in my dude, he should have sneaky! He’s not lying, and it’s a great soundbite.

So, I’m going to keep educating myself as best I can over here, and know that I am one person, who is more interested in politics than ever before, who is educating myself about the American political machine, who is learning all about the ins and outs of our democratic system, all because one man inspired me to do so.

Now, this is freaking awesome, way to go Axe:

I've never meant to imply Obama followers are naive. It's just that, STILL, the man is terrific in raising emotions and radiating hope, but I have yet to come across much that makes me think he actually has a solid action plan. And his reticence to debate only underscores that impression.

The man gives a great speech, but I'm still waiting for the specifics. The "kool aid" comment has to do with the fact that most folks seem to latch onto the "hope" without getting solid answers on the "issues." Hell, the dude defending Obama to that reporter last week is better at outlining the issues than his candidate is!

But, all that said, I'm actually happy -- for once -- with both Democratic candidates. And lord alive, do I wish they would just team up to form a Super-ticket.

I know Tanks, I know...

Remember, its very common for "winners" to not want to debate. Why sacrifice anything for the roll you're on? If Hillary was on a roll, she wouldn't want to debate either, TRUST ME.

And seriously, his plans are deeply detailed on his website, you just have to get to the pdf, don't look at the pretty on the page.

Obama was in the Illinois senate for 8 years, he sponsered over 800 bills. His record is there for all to see.

The dudes not hiding, I think the substance comment is a talking heads issue, its a sound bite, just like "yes we can."

We'll see how my boy does tonight huh?

But I know, no offense taken, it makes me want to be stronger in my conviction and education, which is never a bad thing.

As he nears securing the nomination, you're gonna see the policy wonk in him start to come out more. So far, Davids Axelrod and Pfouffe have done a good job of keeping that under wraps, after Obama stumbled out the gate in the moments following his candidacy announcement.

'Course, if this McCain "improper relationship" business stays in the news for any length of time, it looks like Obama's road to the White House could be nearly as smooth as his Senate run in '04.

Fucker's charmed, for certain.

And I don't see any combo of an Obama/Hillary ticket. The inclusion of her on any part of that would mobilize the GOP to attack like it was 1996 all over again. I think, if Obama wins the nomination, he picks Edwards. Besides, there isn't a bad thing in being a career statesman for Hillary. She could look to Ted Kennedy as a model.

Also, judging by Hillary's actions in last night's debate, she's clearly angling for an Obama / Clinton ticket.

Which, in my opinion, would be fucking awesome for a bout a bajillion reasons.
