So wow, the 3rd episode of Survivor but my first Survivor Recap Friday post!
Kinda fun.
Okay, I think this is a pretty interesting season so far. Everyone seems generally pretty young, no real old-timers, the only ones were Monkey (oooh right…Chicken) and Christian Coalition lady who kicked it last night. Everyone else is pretty young, so that takes away from the wise old person winning it, like how it should have been with Yao Man last year. I miss Yao Man.
I have picked the gravedigger (John? Still learning names) to be my MVP. I’m sticking with him, he’s quiet and strong as shit. But I’m a little worried about Denise and Todd, I think they’re both pretty strong contenders. On my Survivor TV Guide preview show, Probst was saying if Denise can make it past the first few rounds, she’ll do really well. And we NEVER see her or hear from her, which leads me to think she makes it pretty far, or that they just don’t want to show her mullet.
I love that there’s no more Exile Island, that was dumb, but I do like the kidnapping. I think it adds an interesting element to the game so opposite teams can try and make some alliances across the beach. I’m okay with the hidden immunity idols too, I could do without them honestly, there really is only ONE immunity idol and that’s the one you battle it out for, but its fine, I think it’s going to be awhile before anyone finds theirs. And as John pointed out last night, if you find yours on your camp, and then get kidnapped to the other camp, you could have two!
But nothing will ever top Yao Man making a fake one. Brilliance.
So yeah, nothing real specific from last night, the dudes are acting like assholes, the chicks are acting dumb, but so far so good. No luxury camp…phew. I gotta go make my picks for next week.
