SOC Wednesdays

Stream of consciousness Wednesdays continue….

John and I fly out to L.A. tomorrow to go to a high school friend’s wedding. I’ve never been to L.A. I’m looking forward to it, we have no car (I know I know, you can’t do anything in L.A. without a car) but apparently we’re near a bunch of stuff, and what I’m really looking forward to is just hanging out with John and some of my high school buddies. We could never leave the hotel and that would be fine with me. The pool, some drinks, good conversation, nice weather, some Cribbage maybe…I’m down with it. Who needs Rodeo Drive? Not I, said the Hixx.

My favorite person on television? Isaac from the Real World. Oh my lord is this cat hilarious. He isn’t trying to “be” anything, he’s not trying to be cool or hook up with every girl in the house, he’s not trying to be as drunk as possible. He’s just a weird dude who is who he is, and I can appreciate that. Plus, he’s almost hot.

I finished Lucifer’s Hammer and if you’re interested in any “end of the world” kind of stuff, I highly recommend it. What a great book, another book I ate for a week and a half. I love this book. Comet crashes into earth, what happens? People die; run for the hills, 400 foot tsunamis, oh my lord. Please. Get.

You know what my favorite show on television is and never gets the love it deserves (besides Damages, whoa…was last night a kicker or what?) The Soup. The Soup is the best show on TV. Frickin’ hilarious, smart, silly….I love it. That Good Morning lady makes me laugh so hard, and Little Gay and the pictures of Nicole Richie pregnant and everything. I love it.

The book has been sent to the editor this morning, there’s a part of me that really wonders what I should do this afternoon! I have stuff to do certainly, but I’m in a weird holding pattern right now, designer is doing what she needs to do, editor is doing what she needs to do and I’m kinda sitting waiting.

Oh, looks like Hixx is going to be in Vegas for Hallloooooweeeeeeen! Yup, you heard it here first. I cannot imagine for the life of me what that is going to be like. I just can’t imagine. John thinks I should go as The Crow for my costume; I’m down with that idea. But then a friend asked me if I was going to be The Black Crow and that got us started down so many roads of bits I can’t even tell you.

Ring, still as pretty as ever.

Dare I ask for advice on where in the hell to throw this little wedding thing we got going on? If you have advice, please feel free to post it, how ‘bout that?

Tonight I get all pretty, mani/pedi to show off my bling, coloring hair, trying on dresses to make sure they fit for the weekend, and top it all off with a big ole heaping of Top Chef. I know I know, my life is SO hard.

Do you have anything at all in mind as far as where you want to hold the wedding? Indoors or outdoors? In the city (that's what I'm guessing)? People gave me suggestions when I was getting married and I still have some info.

You know, I have no idea. I'm pretty sure no outside..because I'm too worried about rain. can't help it.

All the regular places aren't doing it for me, cultural center or Peggy Notebart, I dunno. I really have no preconceived ideas.

hi!
Congrats on the engagement--I'm so excited for you guys!
And extra special shout-out on Apes--you really entertained me every week--and I'm so proud of you.

For wedding stuff--two of my friends did a brunch reception at Ann Sathers--with brunchy food, mimosas and bloodies. I thought it was lovely.

Good luck--have fun in la la land and see you soon

How about a Theta reunion/bachelorette party in your honor in ole Chicago? Perhaps a road trip is just what these Indy girls need? email me and we will see what weekends look good?
