Lo Cal

Okay, a few things for peeps to get up on today.

I just finished Cell by Stephen King. So much fun. So implausible, so ridiculously ridiculous and I loved every minute of it. I told John last night I had to finish it because it was preventing me from doing other things I needed to do. But it was so in my brain, so addictive, had to finish it. And I did, this morning. So now life can go on! It really was fun, I recommend it.

I also want you to get up on two of my new favorite low cal snacks!

The hostess mini cupcakes at 100 calories a pop.

These are delicious! Like John said, instead of making the same size thing and making it taste like poo, they just give you 100 calories of what tastes good! So they’re very little, but there’s three of ‘em in a pack. And granted, these are in no way good for you, but if you’re like me, and you need chocolate (and please, one little bite of Dove is not going to do it) then these are pretty good.

Also, we got the Breyers 100 calorie ice cream cups, in the vanilla fudge swirl variety. And they’re pretty good too, if you let them melt down a little bit first.

So yeah, there you go, some fun things to eat if you’re dying for some chocolate and don’t want to eat an entire pint of Ben and Jerry’s, which I have been known to do.

you know, I got the skinny cow ice cream cone thing? And it was HORRIBLE. I hated it. But I do want to try their ice cream sandwiches!

ill eat almost anything that says "100 calorie" on the label! heh. and there's a lot now. when i was strictly doing ww, it was worth 2 points. im sort of doing it now, which doesnt really work out. i need to get back on. also, the ww giant chocolate bars on a stick are delicious, if not expensive. ... but you have to make your choices. they're so good that dallas used to always eat them up before i could! he loves skinny cow too.

oh, also, i forgot that i was going to add, that i've found that much of my challenge is portion control. so that's why the 100 cal things work for me. i have two containers in my cupboard, one for sweet and one for salt and i have lowfat snacks in each category in each bin. so if i have a sweet tooth or if i want chips, that's the first place i go instead of heading over to the other cupboard where dallas has his chips and other food that's off limits for me! :)

That whole 100 calorie thing is so smart that I get angry every time I see it. Why couldn't I have thought of that? Really, how hard would that have been?

My problem is I tend to eat 3 or 4 servings in a sitting...followed by a bag of cheetos.

Rachelle, that's funny, because my "shelf" has changed too. Instead of cupcakes and mac and cheese, now its filled with walnuts and 100 calorie snacks. I love my shelf though!

Big D, i'm totally with you, its the simplest ideas that are the best ones, no?
