So! Nice weekend, even though this summer hasn’t been filled with concerts in Millennium Park and days at the beach, it’s been a really relaxing time for the most part.
Friday night was quiet, as I stayed in and rested and went to bed early. Saturday I took my weekly bike ride to moms and just as I got on the path, I noticed a ton of people standing around, heard talking over microphones and saw tons of cameras! What was going on here I thought? Well! It was Mr. Mayor Daley, talking about bike paths! It was so weird, there were maybe 20 people there watching, most looked like they had happened upon this as I had, but he was RIGHT THERE…so I snapped a pic.
Hello Mr. Daley! He was all pink-faced and hot, I couldn’t stay, or I would have listened longer and maybe finally get to meet him, but alas, mothers do not wait long.
Saturday afternoon I worked on my scene for Apes and went out to see a show later that night.
Sunday I gave the hottest tour of ever in the land, it was so hot. The boat peeps stayed with me as long as they could, then right around Navy Pier, where there was no breeze, no shade, no nothing, a bunch of people went downstairs, I don’t blame them. And even as I saw them going, I let them know it was okay with me, they all looked so apologetic. And it really was dang hot. But it was a fun tour, Sabrina and her parents were there, it was nice to have peeps I knew on the boat.
Which reminds me!
My favorite thing ever in the world is the Air and Water show, I don’t know why, I’m not a boat or a plane person in any way, I just love watching. So! I scheduled two tours for that weekend, kind of earlier in the day, so I could be on the boats giving a tour as the planes fly by.

So the rest of the week is preparing for Apes and writing the book, gotta get it done! First draft almost completed. Almost.

My mom was in town one weekend during the air and water show, and we did one of the boat tours while the planes were flying overhead. It was awesome!

Yeah, I thought it would be a good time to get on the boats, and it still leaves me plenty of time to go check it out on the beach afterwards.
