Well, seems like summer has hit for sure, and this weekend was unbelievably beautiful, Saturday almost made me cry with what a perfect day it was.
I went to see my mom in Evanston on Saturday, I bring my bike on the train and then I ride it home, usually ride home on Rockwell, quiet but busy enough street to get stoplights at the busier cross streets. I love riding down Rockwell. At the beginning of the ride in Skokie and Evanston there’s a great bike path through a beautiful sculpture park that will take you all the way to Howard, and that’s when I would cross over to Rockwell.
Well.. my brother told me the bike path goes all the way to Lawrence…what I say? Yes he says, all the way. I guess I never took the chance before, I just assumed the path ended because the sculpture park ended.
Well this path is the prettiest path in the city, taking you all the way from Howard to Lawrence right along the river…going underneath busy streets, don’t even need to stop for lights. It was the best ride, I’m still high from it, such a beautiful day, such a beautiful ride, all of a sudden I have a new found wish to go see mom in Evanston, a trip that has always held much annoyance from me.
I also got my hair cut, quite a few inches actually. I found it funny when talking to my lady friends that we all requested the same thing of our hairdresser….chop the mullet. Somehow we all have ended up with long, layered hair in really just two layers, making a subtle yet annoying mullet. So I had her cut the whole bottom off and now I basically have a bob about two inches underneath my ears. My neck is free and cool, I have no mullet and I’m quite sassy. I would have taken a pic, but my camera batteries are dead.
A new haircut and the most beautiful bike ride ever made for a great weekend, now I just can’t wait for the next one.

It's really lawrence and the river...I think you actually get on the path at Ainslie, but yeah, head west towards the river and you'll find it. It's perfection. Seriously. And yeah, you go under "most" streets!
I used to bike along the sculpture path all the time growing up! I always stopped at Howard, though ...
