N'awlins

So pup seems better today, he’s all waggy-tailed and smiley-faced, so I’m assuming besides some achy bumps and bruises, he’s okay. Thank you for all the well wishes for my pup! I can’t wait to get home to him today.

Also, don’t forget the salad experiment! We came back today after eating delicious New Orleans po’ boys.

So, let’s see…

We got to New Orleans early on Thursday morning and headed right out to the heart of the Quarter. We ended up right quick at Lafittes, the oldest bar in the United States, so old; the bricks at the bar are worn down with feet! Maybe they should call it LaFEETS! HA!

We drank beer and had fun.

Later we went and had dinner with Sabrina’s mom who lives in New Orleans, she took us to an awesome place for dinner where I ate delicious scallops and John had delicious Kobe beef.

Then that night, off for some partying.

Friday was spent kickin’ around, hanging by the pool and a reception held by Pete’s dad with good food and open bars.

Yum on all counts. I have no idea what we did Friday night, but this is what New Orleans is for right? Maybe that was the night we watched people "ride the bull?"

I do know that sometime on Friday was when we passed by a young scruffy-looking woman. John and I both stopped “we know her”, well we figured out pretty damn quick that we don’t necessarily KNOW her, but saw one of the Indigo Girls wandering around the French Quarter! We ended up running into to both of them a few more times, here’s my pic of the back of them!I love it, because you can totally tell its them even from the back.

On Saturday we all got prettied up and headed out to the wedding in St. Louis Cathedral. Yup, right in the middle of the French Quarter! The wedding was lovely and afterwards we did a “second line” and they closed off streets and the whole wedding went marching down Bourbon with a four man band rockin out ahead of us. It was unbelievable.

Saturday night we headed to the reception and the open bar and the free food. Delicious!

Isn't my man so handsome?

Sunday John and I were done drinking, no more! So we wandered around some more, bought some presents and went to hang at the pool. We had an okay dinner that night and then went to the casinos where John proceeded to win 200$ on a two cent slot. Can’t beat that.

Then back to the hotel for an early night and an early flight out.
All in all it was a really grand weekend. We got to hang out with our friends Higgins and Rene, watch our old friend Pete ham it up in one of the most beautiful cathedrals and me and my man enjoyed each other’s company.

I’ll post more tomorrow on my philosophical views of New Orleans, so you can all be really excited about that!

But for now, I'm sleepy.

That is awesome. I can't wait to hear more stories! New Orleans was hard on me emotionally when I was there in November, and I want to get back there again when I can. I can't imagine how gorgeous that wedding must have been!
