YAY! My god does it feel like spring outside or what? Geez oh pete! I’m actually looking forward to going home and walking my dog. DID YOU HEAR THAT OLD MAN WINTER? DID YOU?
So yeah, seriously, it’s a freaking relief to see all that snow melting, to not have to wear your hat or you’ll die and to remember that there is light at the end of this snow tunnel and sooner or much much later, it will be springtime here again. Phew.
So…nice weekend over all. Friday night was date night, we were headed out to dinner but NO, our dog walker screwed up royally and our poor pup spent almost 12 hours in his crate, alone, not peeing. Lovely. So we stayed in and watched movies and ate food and went to bed early. So nice. Saturday was spent doing chores and then ladies night Saturday night which was too much fun. We got warmed up at The Daily, then headed over for karaoke with a strange but excellent group of women. Many songs were sung and many new drinks (Ginger Ale and vanilla vodka…um…yum?) were consumed. Sunday we nursed our hangovers with Hackneys and ….
Well…
Do you really want to know?
Sunday was spent reading, cleaning, playing with pup and not really watching TV. Why? Why do you ask?
Because our Tivo is out. Yup, ruined, burnt out, shitcanned and generally effed up. We have to send it in and get a new one; it will take about two weeks. Lovely, just lovely. I did manage to catch the Amazing Race All-Stars (wouldn’t miss it for the world) and Battlestar. But it was weird to turn off the TV when I was done. Anyway, there will be more about this in an upcoming Chicagoist post, so I don’t want to divulge my TV humor just yet.
My brother found this old picture of us. How cute am I? And why does my brother Stuart look just like Robby Benson?

RE: TiVo ... welcome to how the rest of us survive. maybe if you're nice I'll let you borrow my iTunes Heroes eps when I'm done. That's how i solve the 24/Heroes conundrum.
I am sorry for your loss. Please know that we're here for you during these tough times. I recommend downloading missed tv things off the interwebs, just not the paying for it part so much. Hooray for torrents!
Good luck.
Well thank you to both of you. I really need to learn how to do this "downloading" thing.
