You know, one of these days, someone is actually going to ask me to work at work. Although it’s been busy today, I still find my priorities to be somewhere between daydreaming and writing posts for Chicagoist. Oh yeah, and blog entries.
My friend Sabrina was in town this weekend. She’s planning on moving here in the next few months. As someone who raced back here after a failed year in NYC, I so understand her quick desire to get out here as soon as possible. Its fun to watch her realize her city has been here this whole time (she used to live here) and that yes, it is the city she remembers, but no, it isn’t. There is so much here for her, she has changed, the city has changed, and it’s exciting to watch someone fall in love with this city again, just as I did five years ago.
We went out and saw improv shows and friends, we drank beer and laughed. Sabrina braved a fun trip out to see my mom and then a friends show that night. Yesterday we dined at the ever-fancy Golden Nugget, and checked out the severe gore-fest that is The Departed. (boo on that movie, seriously, although I could watch Leonardo do anything forever). She leaves today, but she’ll be back soon. I don’t think she can stay away now. Especially since she and Remo are bff’s.
She said she wants to be lost and then found. I can’t think of a better city to do it in.
