WHEW!
Okay, writing while I have time, because for the next few days, I will be out of town. Ugh.
Tomorrow afternoon, around 1:00, my office in the office (so me and my three ladies I work with in the legal department) are leaving to go to the Cubs game, rooftop, you know it.
Then tomorrow night (I kid you not), we hop on the COMPANY JET and fly to my boss’ house in Camden Maine.
On Sunday, we return by regular plane, to our homes and our families.
Is it horrible that I’m dreading it? Is it?
I love the ladies I work with, I really do. They’re really great, I’m so lucky, as I’ve said before.
But to stay in my boss’ house, in a strange room, in a strange town (I’m actually pretty familiar with Camden, but still), making small talk in my pajamas, well…it’s killing me.
We’re trying to get our lease signed for what I know to be, the prettiest apartment in Chicago. Seriously. It is downright pretty. I can’t wait. And I’m racing around trying to get it done (having a real estate attorney in the office makes things difficult and easy at the same time, (she had some things to say about the lease).
And work is crazy and my life is crazy and I’m just not in the mood to go sit and pretend to drink wine (which I detest, it makes me cry, or makes me make someone else cry) and force conversation.
I know once we get there, and I have books to read and lobster to eat that it will be lovely. But today, right now, it could kill me.
Wish me luck, I’ll be back on Sunday. Also planning on bringing me laptop, maybe there will be some blog posts from the land of the lobster roll.
