Personal Days

Does every woman in the world have bra problems? Or is it just me. For chrissakes. They’re harder to get than shoes. Too big, too small, felt good in store, boobs down to knees at home.

I don’t get it.

Anyway, I didn’t post yesterday because I took a much needed personal day. I got a ton done and I really needed it, and didn’t have to feel guilty cause I am owed 3 personal days, and because I did so much work at home, it was great.

My weekend this past weekend was awesome.

Friday night John and I headed down to Millennium Park for the Sondheim in the Park. It was truly beautiful. The hot, rainy night turned cooler and sunny. The music is and always will be wonderful. And now with my mom’s plight, Sondheim music is an automatic cry, no matter what it is. I felt ridiculous until John found one other girl in the crowd wiping her eyes after “Send in the Clowns”.

Saturday we took our pup and started a long, hot ride to Wisconsin. John’s dad was having a birthday party with two other people and there were a ton of peeps in his parents beautiful back yard which is maybe…a bajillion acres of woods. There were hayrides and cake, babies and our dog. It was a nice day, if not too hot.

We consumed more cheeseburgers than should be allowed two people, watched Remo flip out in real nature, real water, real scents and real grass. He was hilarious and hot and happy, just like us.

Sunday we went to John’s sisters house. She has a beautiful daughter named Lauren who is so full of personality you can barely talk to her. She’s funny and silly and charming, and it always amazes me how little girls especially, learn to be coy and cute and what kind of reaction that will get them.

Then the long ride home (no air conditioning keep in mind) and 20 minutes after we arrive home, we left for our next campaign in D&D. We had a great game, long but fun, and it was a nice way to feel normal again (I know I know, the irony) after our long hot rides.
