Hooah…..that is the sound of me relaxing a tad.
Although this weekend was jammed packed, it was a fun weekend for sure.
Let’s start out with the vegan rehearsal dinner for the wedding, which was not a vegan rehearsal dinner, as there was no dinner there. John and I sipped vodka and sprites and got downright into it with the father of the bride, not in a bad way mind you, just got into it. He was very proud of his daughter, that’s for sure.
Saturday I got up and went with my nephew and niece (and their daddy, my brother) to the Shedd Aquarium where I haven’t been since I was a wee one. It was great fun, and as my niece, Grace, is turning into one of the smart people I hear so much about, she made sure to let me know her friend liked dolphins, but she prefers porpoises. Ahhh..okay. Sweet girl. The dolphin show at the Shedd was really uninspired, yet the dolphin space is beautiful, and of course my little girl love kicked in as well and I wished upon all stars that I would grow up to be a dolphin handler.
Sigh.
Saturday night it was time for the wedding, and I was almost as nervous as John was in his officiating of the wedding. But the wedding was short, bride and groom requested five minutes tops, so John told some cute stories and then got down to business.
More sprite and vodka’s were consumed to keep energy levels up, and I had a fun time meeting some old friends of John, who seemed surprised that he had such a cute girlfriend. :)
Then Sunday I walked Remo in the rain way too many times, and sat on the couch for too many hours. It was lovely.
I have a lot of things on my mind, sort of life’s bigger questions, about friends and goals, and changing of friends and growing up and committing to things and myself and most of all, committing to 24.
Today in the RedEye, they had lines you would never hear on 24, this one was my favorite:
“Chloe, its Jack”
Hee hee.
