Good Friday

Hello all. It’s a good Friday. I know next week is really Good Friday, but this one is pretty good too.

To answer my brother’s question…yes, the blog will be about the dog for the next couple of days at least! We’re getting the hang of crate training, so is Remo (he slept the WHOLE night in the crate! No whining! Such a little peanut) and it was exhilarating! He met his new dog walker who left us a “report card” telling us how sweet he is. Yup.

Also, we really learned that the purpose of the crate is to not let the dog out of your sight for two seconds, so he can never “use it” in the house. Well we took Remo out over and over and over again, and no poop. None! We started to worry for the little fellow until last night, we were both walking him and he makes the move. John yells “This is it!” and as Remo starts his bidness, we’re standing over him yelling “SHOWTIME!” (his training word for the bidness). The other trick is, lavish serious praise when Remo does what he’s supposed to. So we’re yelling SHOWTIME! And kissing him and loving him. When he started to go, he looked right at me and I didn’t want to break eye contact, or send any signal that he was doing something wrong, so I had to stare my new dog in the face, with a big ole smile, all while he’s pooping up a storm.

Anyhoo, big weekend, brother comes in to town, Remo goes to the vet and to the groomer to get the pound washed off of him, and then who knows what.

I miss him. All alone at home in his crate. Can’t wait to go home!
