WHEW! The Hixx is working hard today and really, thank God, because this day could have taken forever knowing I had the next 5 days off. So I’m glad it’s busy, I’m getting excellent at shuffling papers. Truly. The problem is, forgetting where I shuffled them off to. I can always remember that indeed, I shuffled them, but where to?
I will save my “I’m Thankful” blog entry until tomorrow, I realize everyone is on the edge of their seat, waiting for it, but you will just have to wait a little bit longer.
I watched “Shattered Glass” last night with my friend Hayden Christiansen who I really disliked from the Star Wars movies. He was so whiney and such a terrible love story actor that I found him fairly repulsive. And John’s point of he should be whiney and that it totally fits with Luke’s whininess is fair and I think he’s actually probably right about that, I just really considered him a terrible actor.
In Shattered Glass, the story of Stephen Glass who made up pretty much every single story he ever wrote for the New Republic, his whininess is PERFECTION. He was just great in this movie, truly good. The story is fascinating and also a testament to what you can get away with by being just slightly more charming than the average Joe.
But really, what I wanted to talk about was the one scene where there’s a bunch of people going through old copy of the New Republic and circling all the misused commas. I mean, I know I love commas. I really do, I love them, I love them, I love them….,,,,,,,
So I’m going to try and cut down on them a tad. I use them like periods. I used periods in that last sentence even though I wanted to use commas.
Tomorrow I have all to myself, will I go see Rent? Maybe. Will I go buy the turkey? Maybe. Will I stay home cause it’s going to be so f’ing cold and clean and putter around and watch Being There which I’ve never seen? Most likely. But I am looking forward to the day off, to getting things done and to the Holiday Weekend in general.
Christmas is coming…,,,,
