Missing piece

First off, with all the fun of addiction talk and my “soul searching” and my “withdrawal” and my narrow minded views of how hard life is, please read:

“A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey.

A story of addiction unlike any other I’ve ever read. And I love me some drug books, I really do, always have, they fascinate me. But this one is achingly excellent. I’m blown away by this book already, have been thinking about this man for days and in relation to him I am as clean as a 4 year old just gettin’ out of the bath. It really is amazing and everyone should go out and buy this book and make sure this man gets every penny coming to him.

Because not only is it an amazing story, he’s an amazing writer, and when we as aspiring writers think “oh I can’t write that way, it’s not right” read this book and you will know that you can write anyway you dang please, as long as you get your point across, and believe me, this guy does. I cannot say enough about this book.

This weekend was fun, a nice long walk and dinner with me man on Friday night and a quiet night at home. Saturday we were up early for a drive to Wisconsin to see John’s niece have her 1st birthday. It was a good time with lots of young kids and older more sarcastic family members. I was astounded by the energy and time put into a one year olds birthday they will never remember, but that is how we teach our traditions I suppose.

A romantic night in John’s family’s cabin, a huge warm roaring fire and unfortunately me getting my ass kicked in Cribbage, on 3 separate occasions. Huh.

Last night an incredibly boring viewing of the new Amityville Horror and as much reading as I could get in.

I’m very behind on my Nanowrimo but do not plan on giving up yet, I can catch up, I will catch up and will have lots of Thanksgiving Holiday weekend to write.

Buy that book.
