Pearl Earring my butt

I find I have to get my blogging in where I can now. It’s not always going to be my afternoon blog like it was before. So here goes an early morning blog.

And a rant. An early morning, literary rant.

I read “Girl with a Pearl Earring” or “Girl who is in every other book in every other story ever written by anyone including VC Andrews”. I do believe that is the byline.

I am SO TIRED of books like these.

Young “maid” enters “Masters” household. Wife of Master hates maid on sight because maid is of course, exceptionally pretty. Smart and pretty maid does her best to avoid master, but holy moley! When Master starts painting her, she starts to shiver when he stands next to her.

Wife of master starts giving maid lots of work to do, to show she knows. Maid has to somehow run away to get away from Master and Wife, although she has altered their household forever.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

There is also the girl from the south, who had a hard time because she was molested as a girl and has to go through the trials and tribulations of working at the Walmart and being fat.

SO TIRED OF THESE.

Seriously, that dang pearl earring book was one of the cheapest Harlequin romances crap books I have ever read. It took me five minutes to read it (which is fine, if it’s GOOD) and I learned nothing, read nothing I haven’t read before and hated each and every one of them. A quote on the back read “this is what it really must be like being around a painter” or some such ridiculous notion.

The book was so short, we never even learned about the painter and how he painted.

I hate that book. But I’m gonna rent the movie. The movie must be 2 minutes long.

Grrr.

The movie sucked also. I was thinking that the book must have been translated into movie form poorly. Evidently not. I will forget thinking about reading the book now.

Check out the Barnes & Noble University online. Sabrina mentioned you may be interested. I did most of the book "How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci" by Michael J. Gelb in an online class and thought it was fun.

Look at this too. I am going to do this soon! This may be something you want to do with your Pearl Earring book. http://www.bookcrossing.com/home
