Lighting fires

Well my my my. What a weekend we had.

John and his old roommate Barbera and I all went up to the Improv Inferno (www.improvinferno.com) to see my best friends Dan and Sabrina at their Improv theater.

The trip started with a hilarious ride up in the “bar car” on the train. As soon as we were allowed back, we started up a game of some sort of Gin Rummy and made friends as people came back to get drinks. We made friends with a very sad girl who’s 46th birthday was the next day, I believe she was a virgin and asked us all sorts of sad questions, the best one by far being “does everyone here have a momma? Cause I don’t” We made her laugh and tried to instigate some adventure in her life. Who knows.

Getting to the Inferno was awesome, just like coming home. We played in their late night show “the X show” and had some good times with the regular players from Michigan. The fun part is, that audience isn’t used to seeing my “troubled” characters and they loved the wackiness of it all.

Saturday was filled with breakfasts and wandering around with Izzo, who is just too much. It’s good to see him, I got a tear in my eye when I got my hug. I just don’t have friends like him and Sabrina here, I feel like who I am when I’m with them, something important to not forget.

Saturday night was more drinks, Sox games and another X show, followed by a nice ego boost of another good show and a few people who actually read this blog (Hello Rie, good luck with the canoeing) (Sp?).

Sunday, breakfast at Big Boy and some goodbye hugs.

It was a fast but successful trip, with my very best friends seeing my very best friends. It’s hard to slip back into normal life again, with all it’s issues and demands, the beautiful leaves of Ann Arbor and the quiet way of life far behind us. But the reminder of who I am, and who my friends are make it just a little bit easier.

I am glad you enjoyed your traveling and visit. I am looking forward to taking one of your tours when I come home!

Sabrina & I met up Monday at a nice restaurant for lunch. She told me some good stories and memories of your friendship :-] We were all giddy and excited to go canoeing even though it was windy and a mere 47degrees. Once we got to paddling we were not even chilly except for our face cheeks. Sabrina's but ended up being numb for some reason though (giggle.) It was a lot of fun, thanks for your well wishing.

Best of luck with your nanowrimo project!
