God bless

Well, it’s been quite a holiday weekend. I wanted all play and I pretty much got it.

John and I basically “vacationed” in the city, with good meals, good friends, good drinks, beautiful city, beautiful weather and the top half of fireworks. All in all it was an excellent weekend, I couldn’t have asked for more.

I whipped our apartment into shape, it’s so pretty and I’m so happy with it. We’re going to be so cozy so soon.

We went to see War of the Worlds, which I thought, was a piece of poop. Just terrible, and I even like Tom Cruise. In the middle the friends I was with started squirming, writhing in their seats, checking cell phones and were generally uninterested in poor Tom Cruise running and wetting his almost crying eyes.

I was not scared, I was annoyed.

We went to dinner at Banderas, which was awesome and not too expensive, food was delicious.

We went to the new Hershey store downtown, it was much like War of the Worlds without a crying Tom Cruise. Boring and overdone.

We watched the fireworks from North Avenue beach, not realizing with the thousands of other people that buildings obstruct the Grant Park fireworks. Big deal. We could not have cared less.

We got skybox seats to the Sox game, courtesy of Ticketmaster. The seats were so beautiful; I’ve never been that close to anything. But the game was on a two-hour rain delay and John and I were so sleepy, we had to go after the first inning, but we had some wicked excellent brats and the knowledge that we were rockstars for a night.

My best friend Sabrina comes this weekend, I’m attempting to keep the weekend open, so she and I can do whatever we dang please whenever we dang want to do it.

All in all, the best weekend I could have hoped for, romantic and fun, silly and beautiful. Thanks to my baby for being the most fun boy ever.

SABRINA.
