Crazy days

I had an interview this morning.

I was asked by the recruiter to be “suited”.

I almost did a spittake…anyone who knows me knows that I don’t even have the parts to be “suited”.

So I did the best I could and put on a nice shirt and pants and hoped that that would take me where I needed to go. I even put on a pair of earrings and a necklace.

The funniest part was I had to take that all out, untuck my shirt and mess up my hair before I came into work because then they would know I was on an interview, if I looked too nice.

Interview went well, I liked it, like the job title, like the pay, I think I would like the office, liked the work..we’ll see. It’ll be a bit, this stuff always takes time.

Then I had to have lunch with my current boss and we had a nice lunch, chatted about boyfriends and moving and how life points you in the right direction when it’s supposed to. It was a pleasant lunch and I actually enjoyed it, which is not normal for me and my boss. She’s always been pleasant and always says please and thank you which goes very far. But we’re very different women and tend to not have much to say to each other.

She thinks I overslept this morning. She said it’s okay.

I lied to my nice boss.

Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh.

Happy, but disconcerted, in control but totally out of it, hyper but mostly calm.

Summer of 2005 is going to be quite fascinating.
