Mom is better today, quieter.
And that Northwestern Hospital is like the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Private rooms with seats by the window, big tv’s, motorized beds, it’s so nice there. So yay, for now she is quiet and calm.
So, on to bigger, way more important things!
Things like “Administrative Assistants Day”! I mean goh-lee, what an important day this is!
It’s actually very nice, everyone who has my position in the company (there are 18 offices) is called “The Admin”. And we are the only ones in an office of roughly 12 people for office. “The Admins” are at once very powerful and the lowest on the pole in these offices, a quite dichotomous (new word?) position.
However in my office, I am quite well loved. To leave for a day is to make them understand the importance of what I do here, and they do. So generally that’s quite nice for me. The only bad part is, my job sucks it. But that is not why we are here today.
We are today to celebrate “The Admin”. So I got taken to lunch at The Italian Village, which is pretty alright with me. I also coerced my boss to bring the other admin from upstairs with us, cause her manager is out of town.
I like my boss alright, she ALWAYS says please and thank you and always tells me what a help I’ve been that day. And generally, she’s pretty hands off. The only thing is, I have nothing to say to her. We have very little in common and lunch is always a struggle. I think she feels the same about me, she loves me but I don’t think she’s running to have lunch with me either. So the addition of the other admin was excellent. (HI KATE!).
I still would like some cash and some chocolate.
And a day off.
No…two days off.
Happy day to all “The Admins” out there. And here’s to not looking gift horses in mouths.
