DRUNK

So this weekend I got loopy on the margarita and drunk on the vodka.

The thing I find most fascinating is that my poor old body just can't take it anymore. It's totally different then it was, and maybe after the 50th time of not having fun drinking, I'll quit.

not to say I didn't have fun this weekend, I had great fun. But I'm not sure how much of it had to do with alcohol and how much was just lame 34 year old fun.

Friday night we went to the most crowded mexican restaurant this side o' Texas. We were blocked in by a party of old frat friends at a table of 1,000. Our waitress literally had to have them stand and move out of the way.

So I decided...margaritas! John of course drank none and I"m all loopy eating my enchiladas. So on the way out, it's 11pm, John is full and happy and I'm schmappy and want to go out! LETS GO OUT, COME ON, LETS GO OUT. Of course, John doesn't want to go out at all, so I got that shmappy mad and crashed on the couch by 11:30.

Then the next night we decided we were going to get DRUNK. We had two christmas parties, one a fabulous vegan/british delight (much more fun that it sounds, and LOTS of vodka) the other, a martini and mistletoe party.

I remember the first party.

And I remember both John and I getting sick from the second.

Then I spent yesterday nursing my poor ailing body back to health.

And is it maturity or old age that makes me think we could have had the same amount of fun at both parties, without drinking and then thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday together without having to sit on the couch for a few hours before being able to go get breakfast at 2:00?

HUH?

Good thing I got the new Ratchet and Clank to keep me company in my hours of distress. Maturity vs. immaturity, someday I will find the balance.
