Wednesday

Oh beautiful Wednesday, how I love thee.

Face Off, Survivor, Top Chef....Fable 3......

So yeah, I'm coming down hard off of the book, in the best possible way. It was like after the wedding, when I could just wake up and it was all done done done!

Of course, the book isn't totally done, it's at the editor now and I'll need to fix some things, but overall, that dang book is written!

I've learned a few things, here they are:

1. I really do like writing and would love to write another book. Not for awhile yet, but I really do, I even have some ideas. And I've done nanowrimo, I think 4 times now? I enjoyed writing fiction but non-fiction interests me more than I thought. Who knew I loved history? WHO?

2. I learned what it's like to work really hard. I really focused up on a lot of this and it was amazing, to not check email and twitter and just put my head down and work. It was nice. I had to make some sacrifices (sorry Hendo, I really REALLY wanted to see that show) but the things I had to say no to made me sad, but it was for such a bigger picture...

3. You just never know which of the people that you know are the ones that are willing to go to great lengths to help you. These are the freaking people man. I can't even tell you, the people that I thought were going to help in huge ways, didn't sometimes, and the people that I least expected to be so freaking awesome, were. So there you go. Don't burn bridges.

4. My natural state is one of enjoyment and relaxation. I easily slipped into my old life and my old habits and I kind of like that. It's not in my nature to be stressed and tunnel-visioned. I like having a lot of work to do and a lot of time to do it in. It's nice to be back to my life.

It's nice to be back to my blog, to tours, to my friends and most of all....to beers.

Happy Wednesday!

I'm going to live vicariously through you as I make my edits and changes over the next two weeks (got the manuscript back from my editor today). I am in a very discouraged phase at the moment and just want to be DONE. GRRRR....

So drink one for me, would you?

Oh no Melisa! It's going to be okay. This is the price we pay for being awesome. It's all part of the learning process...right? Or maybe just vodka would help.

And Anonymous, you sound really cute...

No worries, I understood. Ray didn't, though...
