What? Wait. What? Hold on. Whoa. Wait. Cold…no…hot…no…busy….no…calm before the storm…no…confused.
So, pretty good weekend in the hizzy.
We had a fun night with friends Friday night, Saturday was a whirlwind day of relaxation, Sunday I gave a great tour (I’m getting really good at these tours, I think they should make me famous someday) and then general work/chores mixed in with some Harry Potter. Just like everyone’s weekend.
But John and I actually got more than that done this weekend, we potentially solved two big issues, one: in general life related and two: important wedding related.
We’ve been struggling with this “after party” of the wedding. We have a very short reception (wedding and reception are 3 hours) so we’ve (I’ve) always had this idea for an after reception/karaoke party. We had our ideas and we had our thoughts and the first idea got screwed, then the second idea got really out of control expensive and then now…we were stuck.
But we think we have the plan, and the plan? Is our bar-home.
Now, our bar is a pretty small place, its kinda dirty, it’s a complete dive in every definition of the word and its probably just about perfect.
We’ve been kind of staying away from it because it is too small and it is too dirty and now we’re having this weird kind of…higher class reception paired with a down and dirty after party, but after we started really kicking around the idea, we had a bunch of things we wanted to do to the place, a lot of ways to make it really personal there, all these fun and John and Margaret ideas started flowing once we really thought about it and in some ways, that’s what I feel like we’ve been missing….a real attachment to us.
So…we’ll see, but it kinda makes sense, its very “us”, its close to public transport, there’s a parking garage, its friendly as hell, they’ll do everything in their power to make it work for us, and shoot, who would we rather give our money to than these guys right? RIGHT!So…done. Invitations next. Rehearsal dinner invitations after that, and then…just general horror and excitement, for as my dear friend/wedding officiant John reminded me, now I can say our wedding is “next month”. YIKES!

dive bars. i've literally grown up in them. literally. since i was a baby. my love for them will never cease. i love how you are continuing to be true to yourself. rock it out, hixx.
hey. i was thinking of you this weekend in a very selfish way. i don't want another summer to pass without a tour. email me and tell me who/what/when to call so i can get hooked up, please.
Thanks Smuss! There is for sure nothing like a dive bar.
I have at least three more tours this year, I will email when I have dates...or maybe put them on the blog so people can come if they want!
