Wow, I had no idea salads had such an impact on me tum-tum. It’s not good, not good at all. But maybe my body is just figuring things out? I don’t know…John said that maybe I was getting “dirty” salads from Foodstuffs, but I’m getting the same reaction from Potbellys.
Anyway…
So, tonight is probably the night.
Obama is going to be our nominee, unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong.
And now of course, in classic Hixx style, I feel such enormous sympathy for the Hill. I hate watching anyone lose anything, especially (I originally wrote “expecially” I like that) something this huge, the hugest thing ever.
I think sometimes, expecially during this campaign, each side has had to put on a defense to protect their own candidate. I know I’ve had some really nasty things slip by in my head about H-Rod, I’ll admit it, I do believe she’s manipulative and will do what it takes to win, but that is also of course what is so amazing about her.
I know its going to be very hard for her supporters to come over to Barack. I see you know, I see what makes him so frustrating, I do. And I know that her supporters feel cheated and that it was her time, a woman’s time, to shake things up.
But I know in my heart, once her supporters see him standing up there, ripping McCain a new one on women’s rights, on the war, on global warming…that they will stand and clap for this incredibly intelligent man, a logical, cool-headed, young, vibrant man and they will put their dreams aside for now, and help us defeat McCain.
I know this.
And seriously, once Hillary turns her fiery eyes on McCain, and gets her supporters to support Barack, once she starts fighting for the Democratic Party, there will be no stopping all of us. And I’m REALLY excited for that, and extremely glad that now this incredibly powerful woman is on my side.
On a side note, I was listening to a Slate podcast where they were talking about Obama’s love of reading and writing, and how he had mentioned that Phillip Roth was one of his favorite writers (personally I find him a bit repetitive, but who am I to criticize one of the finer writers of our time?) and how odd, so very odd, it was to have such a man running for president.
A man who reads.
A man who writes.
A man who thinks philosophically, sensibly, who understands a million other worlds because yes, he READS.
This may not mean much to some, but to a voracious reader like myself, someone who knows for a fact reading teaches you about a world so much larger than yourself, it is huge for me, to have a man who reads, and a man who writes extremely well, running for the White House. Both of these, reading and writing, are traits of a thinker.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching both speeches tonight. I’m looking forward to watching Hillary become one of the strongest democrats in the party.
And I’m looking forward to watching Barack run this damn country like it ain’t ever been run before.
HEE!

This is for you.
Oh, and about that Roth bit, I listened to the same podcast and thought it was hilarious how the panel was trying to figure out how the Rebublicans would theoretically try and use that against him.
It was pretty funny.
Ha! thanks Tank. Love the link.
McCain can't even read the damn teleprompter for petes sakes.
