Hey Monday, what’s the happenstance?
Man. I’m really getting older and wiser. It’s starting to piss me off.
My good friend Izzo had a surprise 40th birthday party over the weekend. He’s in Ann Arbor so Sabrina and I hopped in the car and headed out. We had a nice ride, things were good, we ate some fast food on the road.
Then we got to the bar where the party was held later and had beer and pizza. Lots of pizza.
I don’t feel badly today, mentally or physically, from all the food I ate (John and I also had cheeseburgers Friday night, so um…yeah, big weekend of eating), I’m not going to beat myself up, I kinda knew going into it it was going to be like that, and I was going to let it be like that, but MAN, was I glad to be home. I’m even glad it’s Monday. I get to down my green tea, get my Fage with my fresh strawberries, my East Bank salad with the littlest smooch of salad dressing and a run tonight and bam! It’s like, that foray into the world of eating shite is the exception and my good eating is the rule. And it’s just nice to want to be back to this instead of having it feel like food jail. I didn’t even get my usual yummy bread roll with my salad! TAKE THAT WENDYS!
Anyway, it was so great to see Izzo. I have gotten a lot of advice from Dan in my lifetime and he’s married with a fabulous two year old and another baby coming in a month, so he’s so the one to go to for advice on weddings and not being a “nagging wife”, and, he can just answer my questions, so every time I got to talk to him we huddled down real quick so we could get to some stuff, but all the time in the world is not enough time with Dizz, so, I’m just glad to see him and his beautiful wife, The Triscuit.
And even though I wanted to go to Ann Arbor and see Dan, and sing 80’s songs with Sabrina through open/spring car windows, I really hated leaving my little family at home. Which just cements to me the fact that I like to be where John is, and I like John to be with me, and if Remo is there, well….that’s all I really need. Smooch.
