Ruminating

GODDAMN THIS SUNSHINE IS AWESOME!

Yup, okay.

So it’s supposed to get colder next week, but not in NYC where I’ll be!

A couple things today…

First of all, stupid stupid Obama’s preacher, stupid. Oh my lord. I hope people don’t pay attention to this guy, seriously. What a mush. He and Geraldine should go sit in a room together and just get this racism thing figured out. C’mon Obes, you have to keep this going, your preacher ain’t helpin’. I swear, I wake up every morning waiting for something horrible to happen, someone in the Clinton camp found out that Obama murdered twin girls who worked in the Peace Corp, were orphans, saved dogs and helped old people. This election is making me extremely nervous.

I finished HP and the Prisoner of Azdljsfklaban. Now, I have my issues with HP, I’ll admit it, the first two books were really juvenile (I understand they were supposed to be, yes I do) but I just didn’t get into them. I definitely started to enjoy myself more with this book, you can absolutely see the tendrils she’s sending out for future books, that she knows she’s cool now and I really think her writing frees up because of it. And in the end, when Sirius writes that note to Harry, I totally started to cry. On the train. Because of Harry Potter. I’m such a simp.

So, to counteract I’m reading Advise and Consent by Allen Drury, which from what I can tell, 30 pages in, ROCKS. It’s about the Senate, and the Majority Whip has to try and get this new Secretary of State through. And right now it is just hilarious and sarcastic and fabulous…

Anyway, nice weekend planned, dinner tonight, mom tomorrow…which reminds me, mom can’t go wedding dress shopping with me, so I decided I would buy some *cough* bridal magazines to take with me tomorrow…and I hated buying them, I really did. I hated picking them out and buying them and looking at these pictures of huge diamond rings and huge expensive dresses and this whole thing is just … . I can see how its fun for some and I don’t discredit that at all, I don’t, because you know…I’m girly too and I like to look at girly things, it just seems anti what I’m trying to do with mine and anyway, I take these up to the counter, two magazines and the total is SIXTEEN DOLLARS. SIXTEEN DOLLARS. You know, that’s one person drinking on the boat goldangit.

Still, it’ll be fun to go through them with mom. Right? Right.

Have a good weekend!

Wait till you get here. It's like 20 below and there's still 4 feet of snow on the ground.

I was fairly impressed with Obama's response to his preacher...he didn't disown or distance. He just said that he didn't agree with him, and that it didn't reflect his views. But he didn't try to avoid the association. It seems like a silly issue to lay on Obama. He would seem to be one of the least racist people around. None of the candidates strikes me as someone with a race problem. Drop it.
