Okay, coupla quick things.
Today is a good day for the following reasons:
1. My family, every year at Christmas, has something we like to call “chocolate blobs.” CB’s are not really blobs, but delicious bars of goodness that Hixx children can shove in their mouths at amazing rates. We have these every year, but only at Christmas and they are really a family thing. When mom had her stroke, we lost the recipe for blobs. We found a sort of half recipe that was just missing too much information to make the blobs and we just assumed they were lost forever.
This morning I walk into the kitchen at our office and there are all kinds of treats on the counter. I look more closely and some of the treats look like…blobs! On closer inspection (meaning shoving them in my mouth) I discover to my great surprise that these ARE CHOCOLATE BLOBS! Oh my gosh. I’m getting the recipe from someone’s mom…so cool
2. Sabrina and I just had the most hilarious time picking up our packets for the Shamrock Shuffle at Navy Pier. We both got really excited for our fun Sunday. And we got all kinds of free stuff, and I LOVE free stuff.
3. Gossip Girl is back with all new episodes on Monday. Beautiful.
4. It’s Friday
5. There are chocolate blobs in the kitchen.

My family in Kentucky used to make something called chocolate loaf just for Christmas. I really want to try making it this year. It's kind of involved by my oldest sister makes it perfectly.
