ISHT- Lost Edition

Oh my god you guys its snowing! Can you believe it? WOW, that is so cool! Oh my gosh!

Sigh.

Okay, I’m So Hot Thursday:

150 – hanging tough! Yes, I was hanging tough at 145 two months ago, but still…at least I didn’t gain anything this damn week.

This morning, in the name of health, in the name of not smoking (11 weeks, 4 days, really…someday I’ll stop counting) I went to the doctor today.

I haven’t had a doctor in years, never really needed one. John and I both take care of our sicknesses pretty much, and I’ve been lucky to not have been sick enough (knocking blog wood) to need a doctor. But, since I’ve stopped smoking, going to a doctor means something different than it did before. Now it’s about taking care of me, before it was about getting yelled at by a medical professional. So! My new doctor is very nice, she’s a lady, normally I would go for a man, but I really do keep hearing about women having trouble getting someone to listen to them when something goes wrong, so … I thought a lady doc might be nice. She was so great, she spent a lot of time with me, didn’t seem hurried or annoyed at my very few questions. I got the whole workup, so that’s great. And I felt extremely good about it walking out of there, like I really had done something nice for myself.

Something else I’ve learned this week, cake is my biggest enticer. Really, I thought ice cream, or chocolate chip cookies, or dove chocolates, but I made a chocolate cake last week and I’ve had a really hard time all week not binging on it. I could really eat the whole thing if I let me. I knew I loved cake, but I didn’t realize it had power over me, seriously! Nothing else makes me want to eat it all like cake does. Now I know. (When do I get to start testing wedding ones? Hee.)

OKAY EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION!

Here’s my most important thing to say today: My friend Rachelle told me about itrain.com. It’s this site where you can go buy 100’s of workouts for the treadmill, the elliptical, I think they have biking ones…stretching, yoga…all kinds of workouts. If you do treadmill stuff, especially if you have one at home, this is the greatest thing EVER.

I downloaded a couple of them, a 20 minute, a 40 and a 60 minute. Basically its this woman telling you what to do, speed it up, incline up, incline down, slow it down, CHEST UP! KEEP GOING! YOU”RE DOING GREAT! BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE! All that kind of stuff. But if you are bored on your treadmill, GET THESE. Each workout can be done running, jogging or walking.

My training for the 8k says I need two days of cross-training, and since I’m not at a gym all I have is my treadmill for walking.

Last night I did a 40 minute/walking/ballet interval one and I am telling you, the time went by SO FAST. So fast. And it was fun! She had me doing ballet moves off the side of the treadmill every couple of minutes and my legs hurt today, I worked my ass off! And it went by lickety-split. So much better than trying to just walk up a hill for 40 minutes.

I can’t recommend it enough really, it changes a lot, at least for me.

So thanks Rachelle! I want to download more more more!

Lost tonight, and a snowstorm, and a warm dog, and a handsome beyonce, and a warm house…good day.

im glad you like them! they really help me a lot bc i pretty much HATE running. And I'm not good at it. The walking version on the routines is usually running speed for me!

Yeah, I like them a lot too! I LOVE THEM! I honestly think they are a saving grace. I'm looking forward to my month being up so I can order MORE.
