I'm So...

They’re making a movie outside my window. I’m going to go downstairs naked and maybe try and get into it. I think they’ll cast me.

Okay, so I’m So Hot Thursday continues, and in the best news of the week, I’m at 144.5. Knocked off some of those pounds there from last week, right in time to go to Vegas and gain it all back. But what the hell. I’m going to bring my running stuff with me there, see what that’s like huh? Running on the strip? You think? We’ll see. Maybe I’ll just run around the parking lot with the hookers.

So yeah, I’m still amazed at my spaziness in running. I can’t believe how all over the place I am, and its something I really want to work on, get more consistent. But there was something about just putting my ipod on “basic workout” and just running, not aiming for something or trying to beat a goal, but just running. Plus, when you’re trying to achieve a goal on this Nike+ thing, the guy comes on every little bit and tells you how far you’ve gone and how far you have to go. I think there’s something mentally hurting me about that, the other night, when I just ran and he wasn’t telling me how far I was, I enjoyed it more. Or seemed to. We’ll see.

But man, this weather is so perfect, and by the time I run its getting dark out and I’m just so much less self conscious about it.

John just got the nike thing too, so that’s kind of fun, and my brother’s on it, so we’ve just started a small “challenge” to see who can run 15 miles first.

I’m just going to do it all tonight.

The thing about this nike thing is that it really plays to people who go after “rewards” and I am really a reward person. Almost everything I do in my life that I consider “work” is so that I can treat myself to a reward afterwards, TV, or a cookie, or bedtime…so this Nike thing is great for me, because there’s all these little built in rewards, coming home and putting it into the computer, seeing what your run looked like, seeing your time and how you did, playing with other people you know on challenges, (beating them!) and having Lance Armstrong (and some chicky I don’t know) telling me how awesome I am. It’s fun. I like it.

Just keep moving forward, the mantra of 2007. Oh, which reminds me, John says he has a running mantra that helps him keep his pace, I need one, any suggestions? Like um…I think he said his was something like “Dog dog diggity dog” (sorry babe for revealing secrets), just something you can say to yourself to keep running on pace…maybe “cat cat cattity cat”?

What if you stripped and ran the strip? That'd draw me away from the blackjack tables for at least a moment.
