LATE night

Yet another Friday afternoon where I have to coerce my brain to actually function and get some work done.

Will it happen? Maybe. Just maybe. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is, time flies much faster when you’re actually working than it does trying to find your old classmates on Myspace.
True dat.

So, part of my antsy ramblings is because I have a really nice weekend coming up and I just want it to start!Yes, everyone, tomorrow is the big day I have been waiting for since…shoot…for half a year at least.

I, the Hixx, give my very first boat tour tomorrow! ACK!

I have invited no one! to come watch me on this tour. I want it untainted, total strangers, I don’t want to worry about looking out on to the boat and seeing John’s face, or Sabrina’s, smiling up at me with great expectancy. I just want to get on, give my wicked tour, and get off.

I’m nervous. Not like “I don’t know what I’m talking about” nervous, but just general “I’m going to be standing up in front of a large group of people giving a tour I’ve never fully given before” nervous. But I’m also excited! I did this whole thing because I wanted to, and tomorrow is the point I’ve been waiting for. So…eek! After I sign up officially for more tours, I will make sure to post them here so people can come see if they want! Then, tomorrow night we do the LATE ride! A 25 mile early Sunday morning (yeah, like 2:00AM) ride through the city with roughly 10,000 other people. I can’t wait! What fun that will be, and how strange.

I remember hanging out at the Tavern 33 on Lincoln, back when the Playground Theater was across the street, and we would head out about 3:00 to watch the riders come past. Drunk and smelling like smoke I would think “someday I’m going to be on that side of sober rather than this side”. Now is my chance! Whoop! I’m really looking forward to it, and the sweet sweet sleep that will come afterwards.

And other than that, I got nothing. Nothing I have to do, nowhere to be, I’m anxious to go to the Folk Music Festival, because that’s my favorite festival of the year.

Tonight? I stay in, practice my song, do one more practice tour to my dog…and then get some big rest for my fun weekend.

Happy Friday everyone! Now get back to work.
