I'm Kinda Hot!

Well well well, Emmys indeed huh? Whatever, not one mention of Friday Night Lights. Whatever! So fucking ridiculous. In all of the years I’ve watched TV, all the massive amounts I’ve watched and I will say without a doubt that I have never seen such awesome television as Friday Night Lights. I’m thrilled about all the 30 Rock nominations, but still…FNL rules, and to not even get a best female actress for Connie Britton is the biggest load of butt I’ve ever seen. And then, for Survivor to get snubbed for Best Reality is a load too. This season was the BEST and Amazing Race kind of blew. So, I trust no one over there.

Mo Ryan of the Trib had a great article on Sunday about how effed the Emmy’s are. And she made a good point about how with the Oscars, well…those people watch the movies generally, maybe not all of them, but people in that industry know what they’re judging. And with TV it’s too hard to watch ALL of the shows, and that a lot of the judges don’t really watch at all...the last thing a TV exec does is watch TV. So…it’s all kind of a load.

ANYWAY, I’m kinda hot Thursday right?

Here’s where I stand:

Weight: 149.5. Down a pound! I think its cheating cause I didn’t eat much yesterday, but still, I gotta put down what I was this morning right? I’m still running at 4.5-4.6 on the mill, but I added an additional 5 minutes, so now I’m running for 35 minutes. I’ve been concentrating so hard on getting my speed up, it almost didn’t occur to me to run for longer…which is dumb, because it burns a hell of a lot more calories to go for 5 minutes longer than it does to up your speed a point. So yeah…bully for me.

I didn’t run as much because we did the LATE Ride early on Sunday morning. And it’s weird, cause I ride to and from Evanston every weekend, but for some reason, the LATE ride kicked my butt a bit. Maybe because we were going so slow? Maybe because it was so late? My ride to Evanston has got to be at least 12 miles (and I do it there and back), and we rode in the LATE ride for maybe 15 miles. I don’t know…but I tried to run on Monday and just…couldn’t.

Does that happen? Where you get on one day and you just can’t do it? When you just did it the day before? What is that? I was rested, hydrated…just exhausted. Even when I ran last night it was a fairly big struggle. I just don’t want to go backwards!

I will say this, if you’re stuck running and you’ve got 5 minutes to go and you need a song to not only calm you down but speed you up, download yourself a little “Pass The Dutchie”, you’ll be running like a madman, while singing to yourself breathlessly, and more than that…you'll have a little smile on your face.

So I think for awhile what I might do is concentrate on upping speed one week, then upping time the next…see how that goes.

You know….Buffy never got nominated for an Emmy either. Stupids.
