Cherry On Top

Monday, my boss was supposed to be back from Maine today, but she got stung by bees and is in the hospital! How horrible is that? She’s okay, she’s fine, but I guess her reaction was immediate and scary. Yeesh.

So….24 is maybe coming to its senses after the horrible showing of last season? Hmmm? Yes, picking Chicagoan Cherry Jones (who is wickedly awesome) to be the new president for next season? Could be promising. She’s pretty excellent and tough as shit, if she can’t pick it back up, we’re all in trouble. John and I were talking about it at lunch, and I have to say what I’m hoping for is maybe no CTU. None. Jack is on his own, maybe with more President, but let’s just cut CTU out altogether. Now that Bill Buchanan is on his own, maybe Jack will get help from Lady President and Lady Buchanan? But I want rogue Jack, all the way. We’ll see.

Weekend was nice, quiet, very easy going. Friday night we had another delicious dinner at Glenn’s Diner. I had the seafood bisque linguini, it was SO GOOD. Piled high with scallops and shrimp, I usually don’t fall down dead from food, but this meal was DELICIOUS. And our service is getting better. I like Glenn’s. Yum.

Saturday was the ride to moms, another beautiful day for a bike ride. Saturday night we went to a grown up party, lots of kids and older folk, it was pretty fun. And they had potstickers!

Sunday I was so so so lazy, John made delicious breakfast then Sabrina and I went to see 1408. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and a nifty little Stephen King movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn’t tell you what happened, or specifics as they come so fast and furious, but I can tell you I yelped out of surprise and fear more than once, and it was god’s honest fear. Cusack was great, Jackson was great (“let me just tell you, that is an evil fucking room”) and the humor and fear that King is so great at mixing. We both really enjoyed it. Nice little package.

When we got back, John had made BLT’s with fried green tomatoes.

Let me just say that again, BLT’s with fried green tomatoes. AYUM! So delicious.

My man is the greatest. And with the fine addition of Peapod deliveries, we are eating gloriously.

HELL’S KITCHEN!

My mouth just watered at the thought of a BLT with fried green tomatoes. It just happened again.

speaking of chicagoans on tv, do you know how the cheetara ladies got their "doug llewelyn" gigs on "world series of pop culture?"

Smuss,

As far as I know the ladies were asked back by VH1.

That's about all I know about that! Helpful, aren't I?

And Erica, we'll have you over for the second round, John has some ideas...
