Well my oh my. What a weekend.
First off, let me say one thing…I want to thank my boyfriend for creating magic in my life. And I want him to know that even though I might see the sleight-of-hand, it just makes it even more magical. Thank you lover.
So! My brother’s graduation went beautifully. It was a wonderful day, so beautiful, and we got mom down to Millennium Park with ease and swiftness. Besides having some guy ask if he could have mom’s wheelchair once she’s done with it (?), it was flawless. Oh! And Da Mayor was there! I’m sorry, but I love seeing Daley anywhere, it was pretty exciting.
We also ended up having a foul Bennigan’s lunch afterwards. That Turkey O’Toole was one of the grossest things I’ve ever had. ‘Nuff said.
The parties at The Playground were hilarious and fun. It was awesome seeing my old friends again and making new friends and meeting old internet friends (lookin’ at you Big D). All in all, it was everything it was supposed to be.
So now I’m stuck with the annoying disease of going on vacation. We leave Thursday for the Big Easy for a fun wedding, and it makes it REALLY difficult to work, even though I really need to work. So…I’m trying.
Oh, and one other thing, I’ve been complaining a lot about the whole running scenario, that is because:
1. Running is hard
2. It hurts my achy muscles
3. I get all hot
4. I haven’t dropped a pound
But I will say this, now that I’m up to 28 minutes (I go for my final 30 minutes tonight), for the past two times that I’ve run, I’ve been able to do it without a ton of trouble. Running for the first 10 minutes kills me, but once I hit that mark, I’ve been cruising, singing along to my tunes and feeling fantastic, not all red-faced and exhausted.
This was just the thing I needed to keep it going. Yay me.
