It’s the small joys huh?
Everyone was so so so nice, so helpful. There were all kinds of different people in there looking up one thing or another. Men with white gloves leafing through extremely old papers, an older couple reading letters together, younger men with their laptops, I’m sure writing the next Devil In The White City. It was just such a neat experience to be up there, doing something important, learning, and doing research on the best city in the world.
It felt really cool.
But we’re not here to talk about me are we? NO WAY!
We’re here to talk about Kinda Hot Wednesday.
Now I’m just going to do this to get it out of the way, then we’ll never have to talk about it again. At least not for KHW. But let’s do a double, a tag team if you will, and continue on the American Idol post from last week.
Today’s KHW fellow is none other than Blake Lewis.
Now, some might argue that Blake deserves to be in Totally Hot Wednesday, but he just doesn’t quite fit the bill.
What makes him hot:
1. He makes a real connection with the audience. There is no fear in this boy I don’t think. He looks right at the camera and the audience and that’s attractive.
2. He’s a cute little dancer, I like his smoooooth moooooves.
3. He’s a good looking guy, no doubt about it.
4. He also seems like a kind fellow. He really took a chance in Hollywood week being the main beat boxer and making his fellow teammates look great.
5. He’s totally spicing up the songs he sings, changing them around without ruining them and then he sings all different songs, some rocking, some love songs, and he pulls it off.
What makes him kinda not
1. He’s tiny. I’d crush him.
2. He has no upper lip really, I like upper lips
3. He’s kind of cheesy. Some of his outfits and things, maybe I’m just old, but the hats and things…not doing it for the Hixx
4. His “characters”, remember that? When he said he does improv and then showed us one of his characters? That scared me a little.
So five pros and four cons means that Blake Lewis gets inducted to KHW. See how happy he looks about it?
And if I had my way, he’d be crowned our next American Idol as well. Stay tuned.

I was saying to myself that his mouth bothered me when you wrote about his lack of upper lip. That is it, I couldn't quite pin point what bothered me. That would be it! I really like him on idol. He does have a strange hotness about him. I loved his rendition of Time of the Season and my all time fave Cure song. Great! Glad to hear things are good for you.
