Thanks!

An early blog post today, my office closes at noon and I will be getting ready to spend a bizarre holiday with my family. So please, allow me the annual “what I’m thankful for” post that probably will not change from year to year, unless John finds someone else to love in Wisconsin and marries her and has babies with her. Then my post will probably be different next year.

So, here’s my Thanksgiving list:

1. I’m thankful for my family. As my mother struggles to convince us she’s getting a turkey and making Thanksgiving dinner (she literally is unable to do this at this point), my brother and I band together and keep each other somewhat sane while laughing at our crazy lives.

2. I’m thankful for John, who continues to be a rock in my life, even when he starts to crumble himself. We have our own struggles, as everyone does, but there is no part of me that is unsure about him in any way. He is a truly amazing friend and dog-daddy (oh man he’s going to hate that phrase for sure) and he still remains the cutest, sexiest man I have ever seen. And he’s hilarious.

3. My friends. My best friend Sabrina will be living in this city sooner rather than later, and that is really exciting. My Chicagoist friends, my new girlfriend, my blog friends, my message board friends, my old friends and my “old” friends. Very thankful.

4. My dog. Although that dog has changed my life in some tricky ways, like always having to be home after work and walking constantly, I’m not sure what John and I did without that little black face to love. We got so lucky, our dog is happy and healthy and cuddly and funny and sweet and silly and awesome. I love my dog.

5. Still thankful for the job, absolutely. The new writing project is a blessing and if my boss hadn’t made me order Access when I didn’t know how to use it and keeps pestering me about when its all going to be done, then this job would be about 100% perfect. Right now it’s about 90% perfect, and that is really good. Specially for me.

6. And of course, to end it all, otherwise I would go on forever, I’m thankful for the cheeseburger.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And don’t despair, there will be a Survivor Recap Friday, Survivor waits for no one.
